"Military units can garrison in most buildings. Enemy military buildings improve the stats of ships. Buildings regenerate. Best at: Navy and Turtling." ― In-game description.

Overview

The Koreans are the first new Asian civilization added in Age of Empires III: Wars of Liberty. They were released along with the Belgians in the Missing Pieces Patch (1.0.11), in December of 2018.
The Koreans in-game are based in the XIX century Korean Empire, proclaimed in 1897 and succeeding the Joseon Dynasty. The Joseon Dynasty was the last independent state which ruled in all of the peninsula, under Empress Myeongseong.

Trivia

  • The Korean Hero voicelines were voiced by a japanese-american, hence having a very "peculiar" accent for native speakers.
  • Korea was originally planned and released in 2013, however coding limitations from back in the day led to an extremely unbalanced and unstable civilization. Making it unplayable until its re-release in the "missing pieces" patch.
