Overview[]
The Japanese are an Asian civilization featured in Age of Empires III: Wars of Liberty, as a reworked version of the original Japanese civilization from Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties.
The Japanese in Wars of Liberty are based on the XIX century Japanese Empire, a major power in Asia which emerged after Emperor Meiji and Imperialists achieved victory in the Boshin War. As such, most changes to the Japanese in the mod have modernized their visuals to fit the new, more modern era.
